Sermon Recap

Jeff Davis | January 30th, 2022 |Mark 5

Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe

As Pastor Jeff continued our study of the book of Mark, he reminded us that Jesus continues to present himself as our servant leader. While this book if full of miraculous healings, there was a common thread among all who were in need. They recognized that they needed to “come” to Jesus. And, they needed to come proclaiming and believing that He is exactly who he says He is. Pastor Jeff stated that “many of us know Jesus, but we won’t come to him.” The stories in Mark 5 show us that over and over again the people that needed something from Jesus sought him and when they reached him, fell at his feet. Jesus has already come to us …won’t you come to Him today? What you will discover is He is the only one that can give you “abundant life.”

As we continue our study on the book of Mark please note the following study schedule to help with your personal preparation for the coming Sunday services:

February 6th Mark 6:

o Key verse: Mark 6:7 “Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.”

February 13th Mark 7:

o Key verse: Mark 7:15 “Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.”

February 20th Mark 8:

o Key verse: Mark 8:5 “’How many loaves do you have?’ Jesus asked. ‘Seven,’ they replied.”

February 27th Mark 9:

o Key verse: Mark 9:35 “Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, ‘Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.’”

Greetings FreeWay Church Family,

There will be some changes that are necessary as we share space with another congregation. Initially, the primary change is that we have moved the service start time to 11:00AM

Additionally, we will continue to utilize basic COVID protocols during the service for the health and safety of the entire FreeWay church family. Please make every effort to adhere to these guidelines:

· If you are feeling sick, please stay home

· If you are not vaccinated, please wear a face covering

· Those that are vaccinated are free to continue wearing face coverings

· Limit social interactions, such as close distances and hugging

· Sanitizer stations and extra masks will be available at each service

We will continue to stream service through Facebook Live and recordings will be posted to the FreeWay website and podcast. Please be patient as we are trying to get those posts caught up and available within a couple of days of Sunday’s service.

I know this is a time of transition for our church. I am so proud of how we have not allowed these changes to affect our service and outpouring of love for one another. This should be the last time we have to change service location and time as we are continuing renovations on our permanent church home in Central.

We will continue our work toward the realization of our vision, understanding that true freedom in Christ begins with service. I am eager to see how God continues to bless His people this New Year!

Now Faith,

Pastor Jeff Davis

FreeWay Benevolence Fund

People throughout our country, local communities, neighborhoods and within our FreeWay family are experiencing unexpected financial challenges. Our church is called by God to help those who are in need—especially those within our family of faith. We are called to celebrate the victories in one another’s lives, but also share in each other’s burdens and hardships.

We have created the FreeWay Benevolence Fund as a way for us to provide assistance to members of our FreeWay Family who are experiencing unexpected challenges, as well as provide a helping hand to those in our communities who are experiencing hardship.

If you would like to give to the FreeWay Benevolence Fund you can do so through our website by clicking on the “Give” button in the top right corner of our webpage. Any money given to the “Outreach” category on the giving page will go into the FreeWay Benevolence Fund.

If you are experiencing challenges and need assistance, please email the church at admin@freewaychurch.cc.
