MAKE It About God!/Nehemiah turned to God first in prayer before addressing his enemies.

As Pastor Jeff continued our journey through Nehemiah, it has become apparent that the

central theme of the book is “the work of the ministry.” Unfortunately, many Christians today

focus on the “feel good” messages. However, our God emphasizes repeatedly in His word that

serving the Lord can be hard at times and full of opposition. Just like Nehemiah recorded in

chapter 4:15 that those who were against the rebuilding of the wall constantly tried to thwart

or stop the project entirely. But God intervened and they were able to continue by praying

through the discouragement. This is an admonishment for us today and for the rest of our lives

as well. No matter how the enemy of our soul attempts to “enslave us,” the work must go on…
